The "Playa's Klub" Targets Young Men

Noh Budget Films have been successfully commissioned by the Lambeth Teenage Pregnancy Parenthood Partnership again to deliver their youth arts programme with Young Men.

The on-going weekly personal development programme aims to promote social inclusion and improve the life opportunities of Young Men aged between 16 – 21. The project runs every Wednesday evening 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Our goal is help them explore high risk situations, develop self confidence and self knowledge, improve negotiation & communication skills, manage feelings & emotions, challenge perceptions & stereotypes and maintain better relationship responsibilities

The aim of Playas Klub is to enable Young Men to develop enhanced key social skills and to make informed choices around their offending behaviour, sexual health, and relationships. The method and objectives are to enable young men to explore in ACTION, topics/issues of interest to them whilst they put themselves in other people’s shoes in order to understand themselves and others better. They will empower themselves to express their thoughts, feelings, clarify values, problem solve, make decisions, gain greater understanding, learn to play roles in more satisfying ways, practice new roles, and become more spontaneous and playful.

  • We actively listen to the needs of vulnerable young men, raise awareness of important issues and support them in breaking the cycle of poverty, and deprivation.
  • We provide creative, educational learning opportunities that are fun, thought provoking and challenging, enabling them to make informed choices.
  • We develop their personal social skills through a series of on-going creative action method workshops involving media/arts based exercises, experiences, outings and groupwork tasks.
  • In these creative action workshops we challenge the thinking, actions, attitudes, values coping skills and behaviours used by young men towards sex, relationships and sexual health issues.

Self-referral & agencies are welcome.
