NICOLA (New International Company of Live Arts) is a youth lead charity (number 1148529) that promotes positive interaction within and between youth communities through creative opportunities and projects, particularly in areas of high crime and low provision of extracurricular and arts activities.
One of NICOLA’ s main project is NICOLA Talent Factory, a concept born to train and develop young people in music and dance, improving their personalities, providing them with the right skills and confidence to start careers in arts related employment as performers, joining existing arts organisations or to run their own business or Social Enterprise. NICOLA Talent Factory provides a range of activities from live performances to talent exchanges nationally and internationally to regular mentoring sessions to help them to create original materials (music and music videos). Talent Factory facilitates networking amongst young artists.
We are currently looking for an intern Marketing Officer to join our young and dynamic team to assist in the marketing and promotion of our projects.
The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate seeking a career in marketing or promotion. A music, and video enthusiast who loves arts and entertainment. The successful applicant will be working on live projects from day one and will be heavily involved in shaping our future product lines.
We are looking for someone who will be available to work 3 days per week with a minimum of four months commitment.
The Marketing Officer will:
-Raise awareness of NICOLA and the work we do with young people.
-Research and contact press/newspapers/radio
-Research and contact schools, Housing Association, Councils and Universities
-Devise and implement a Marketing strategy and Marketing Packs
-Prepare small funding application
-Create a format for a monthly/bi-monthly NICOLA newsletter
-To update the website written information to our web developer and adding additional sections/pages such as a blog forum.
-Organise and compile our database.
– Supervise flyer/poster production
The skills required:
-An interest in Marketing.
-Excellent written and verbal communication.
-Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
-Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment.
-Excellent computer skills required.
-Knowledge of website building and navigation. Essential skills: HTML, CSS, FTP
-Committed to learning new skills.
This is an unpaid INTERN position with a great opportunity to build experience working within an arts organisation and event management while gaining valuable experience in promotions. At the end of the internship there could be possibility to receive a job offer.
