NICOLA (New International Company of Live Arts) is a youth lead charity (number 1148529) that promotes positive interaction within and between youth communities through creative opportunities and projects, particularly in areas of high crime and low provision of extracurricular and arts activities.
One of NICOLA’ s main project is NICOLA Talent Factory, a concept born to train and develop young people in music and dance, improving their personalities, providing them with the right skills and confidence to start careers in arts related employment as performers, joining existing arts organisations or to run their own business or Social Enterprise. NICOLA Talent Factory provides a range of activities from live performances to talent exchanges nationally and internationally to regular mentoring sessions to help them to create original materials (music and music videos). Talent Factory facilitates networking amongst young artists.
We are currently recruiting a Community Manager to help promote events, upload music and videos on social networking websites such as youtube, facebook and twitter, research and contact various media platforms to promote our artists and the charity. The right candidate will be very organised and have a passion for the arts. We are looking for someone who will be available to work 2-3 days with a minimum of four months commitment.
This is an unpaid INTERN position with a great opportunity to build experience working within an arts organisation and event management while gaining valuable experience in promotions. At the end of the internship there could be possibility to receive a job offer.
The Community Manager will:
– Raise awareness of NICOLA and the work we do with young people.
-Update social networking websites such as twitter, facebook, soundclouds, myspace and youtube.
-Upload new music videos to websites such as youtube.
-Upload new music to websites such as soundcloud.
-Research different events in London and help promote events that we put on.
-Recruit and Coordinate volunteers for flyers/posters distribution.
-Recruit editor and video directors
-Help promote the young artists music, video’s etc by other media platforms such as the Radio.
-Admin responsibilities such as updating our databases.
-Collect photos and videos from photographers and video makers making sure that is done following our guideline.
The skills required:
-Good communication and organizational skills.
-Excellent computer knowledge and skills: Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet, E-mail
-Committed to learning new skills.
-Good telephone manner.
-Excellent written and verbal communication.
-Ability to take initiative.
-Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment.
-Confident with social networking websites.
-Friendly and honest.
